In spite of ESL’s original plan to host the IEM New York as a LAN-based event, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced the organizers to carry out the competition online, which started just yesterday, Oct 6th. The tournament brings together three different regions (Europe, North American and CIS) and some of the best teams out there, who will compete for a combined prize pot of $200.000 USD.

IEM NEW YORK – NORTH AMERICA BETTING ODDS

IEM New York Europe & North America Facts:

• Some of the teams now competing include Heroic, Vitality, BIG, Evil Geniuses, Furia, Fnatic, 100 Thieves, G2 and OG.
• Europe Region will feature 8 teams while North America lists 12 total teams.
• Fans can tune in to all three ESL official Twitch streaming channels.

Tournament Format:

• European teams are split into two teams (4 teams each.)
• Europe will play out as double-elimination, in best-of-3 series. The best two teams of each group will advance to the playoffs.
• North American teams are split into two teams (6 teams each.)
• North America will play out as a round-robin, best-of-3 series. Teams will play against each other; the top three teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
• The Playoffs will play out as a single-elimination best-of-three bracket (both Europe & North America.)
• Grand Finals will play out as a best-of-5 series.
