OG’S THREEPEAT GETS KNOCKED OUT OF THEIR HANDS

Two-time champs OG woke up to reality at The International 10 when Team Spirit sent their Three-peat Dreams reeling towards oblivion. Team Spirit’s excruciating 2-0 performance is a burn upon a burn for the dethroned dudes. (To be honest, they really didn’t defend the title with their claws, so…)

THE BURN

With Team Spirit’s Collapse, TORONTOTOKYO’s Ember Spirit, and a roster that really looked the part, TS was over the top and never lost control of the game. Offlaner Collapse took care of enabling all the teamfights, TORONTOTOKYO with his 20/1/15 statline, and the rest of the gang smoothly going with the flow made it pretty much an easy win for them. Game ended by Collapse dragging OG back into Team Spirit’s Fountain, TS pushing into OG territory and wreaking havoc, and then some… It was a wrap. (It was a sweet “Nothing to see here, keep going” moment)

SECOND BURN

The second game started out a little less biased, but still. The highlight of the game was at 19 minutes in. Team Spirit swept the room with OG, and TORONTOTOKYO’s catty “ez game” in all chat just rubbed it in. Spirit’s efficiency was so flawless they even picked the seconds to step in and dazzle. OG, for the most part, seemed clueless and lost. (Not the way kings should be toppled over, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.)

SO, WHAT’S NEXT?

Team Spirit will be facing Virtus.pro in round four of the lower bracket, which at least guarantees one Eastern European squad in the top 4 at a TI; OG is done for with their title defense; Ceb had a “rare moment” and declared this will be his last tourney for a long time; Topson, too, had one of those “rare moments” and also said he was gonna put himself away for a while, whipping out the “bond with the family” excuse. For the upcoming 2022 Dota Pro Circuit start, it’s anybody’s guess what the OG’s gonna do.

The King is dead. Long live the King!
