ESL One Birmingham 2020

ESL ONE BIRMINGHAM ONLINE’S ALREADY ON!

It’s on: 6 regions playing it out in 3 brackets is all ESL One Birmingham 2020, plus more than $300,000 after the event went totally online.

It’s a 3-week clash for the world’s top Dota 2 teams, which has already started out with the Southeast Asian region. Later on, on June 7th, the Europe and CIS competition will start out in full, which will streak the board with high-level Dota for every region. The Southeast Asian region will be the only portion of the tournament confined to just one week, ending on May 31st as the teams will be preparing for other competitions. Catch it all, stream it all, on LevelUp.bet!

The biggest region involved, hosting 16 teams, is EU/CIS; China has 8, and both the North/South America and SEA regions have only 6 teams. Either way, each region has a full-group stage and later a double-elimination playoff bracket.

TEAM UNIQUE SLAMS TEAM SECRET AND ENDS THEIR WINNING STREAK AT THE ESL ONE BIRMINGHAM

For the first time in a month, the top team has eaten dirt. Its winning streak got shot and smeared, ending unexpectedly by an unforeseen and massive upset created by Team Unique. It’s “sorry, not sorry” for Team Secret, taken down in a 2-0 sweep.

This is a first-time series downfall for the Secret team since April 30th, the last one being when they were swept by Team Liquid in the group stage for WePlay! Pushka League. Previously, they were on an 18-series winning streak which had put them on the road to match the 100-game record by the 2013 Alliance and the 2016 Newbee teams. To match the stats, Secret needed to win seven straight games; to beat them, they would’ve needed nine in a row without a loss. Not anymore. VANSKOR and his team were really high-level Dota; it wasn’t a fluke, an accidental win. You coulda streamed it all on LevelUp.bet, but perhaps you didn’t know. Well, now you do.
