
OWL COMMISSIONER WILL GIVE UP POST AFTER GRAND FINALS
Times are changing!
After successfully steering the entire Overwatch Esports boat through a difficult and Covid-19-filled year, Activision Blizzard CEO & Overwatch League Commissioner Pete Vlastelica will relinquish his post to take on a different role within the company.
Vlastelica, who endured the transition from more locally-focused esports events to socially distant/Covid-safe matches, will leave his position only after the conclusion of the upcoming Overwatch League Grand Finals which are scheduled to begin on October 8th, 2020.

According to an official statement issued by Activision Blizzard on Thursday, Vlastelica, who was pivotal in the reshaping and application of the company’s esports efforts, will be looking to take on a new challenge inside the organization: “He was instrumental in building the company’s esports business and driving the industry forward, and we thank Pete for his contributions and impact on our business over the last four years.”
