Vici Gaming Pulls Out Of PUBG
More than two years after operating a PUBG team, Vici Gaming disbands its PUBG roster and division. And I mean total wipeout.
It looks like Vici is not contemplating the PUBG competitive scene in its future, and it doesn’t look like it plans to field any future players there, so it will definitely focus on the other branches it handles.
Vici had initially joined the PUBG scene in 2017, along with other teams wanting to join the new community. The Vici organization only competed in two events that year, but went on to become a mainstay of the Chinese PUBG in 2018 and 2019. After competing in just two tournaments, with its roster split between veterans and newbies, they decided to shut down. This, after failing to qualify for the PUBG Continental Series (Ha! Couldn’t take the heat…)
Vici commented, “Today marks the final chapter of VG PUBG, as our club has decided to disband its PUBG division. It has been a great honor for us to share passionate moments together for so long.” It had only recorded a single first-place finish at the PUBG Champions League – Spring Preseason last year, so yeah, yeah; we get it.
