Skin is for Jarvan IV, and it’s Vctorious and Championship
Special skin marks the game’s annual World Championship

There’s a new League 2021 Championship skin being revealed and it has Jarvan IV’s name on it.

FIRST LEAGUE CHAMP TO GET A DUAL SKIN

This year’s League of Legends World Championship comes with a limited-release skin, and Jarvan IV will not only become the first League champion to have it, but also as a dual skin combo (we’ll get to that later, set yo’ass back down.)

This annual tradition of releasing a special skin to mark the League of Legends annual World Championship began 9 years ago, when Riot decided to let Riven have it (the skin, duh) and release a special Championship edition for them. This all happened on the game’s second World Championship, and it stuck. It’s like a ritual thing because, since then, Riot has been dishing out Championship skins like bad candy, for several champs including: Thresh, Shyvana, Kalista, Zed, Ashe, Kha’Zix, Ryze, and LeBlanc.

BLUE, GOLD, AND SILVER

Jarvan IV will be able to use the skin’s theme colors, which are blue, gold, and silver. Also, Riot has thrown in some extra props and designs like silver walls, blue dragons, and Jarvan’s recall animation looks like a sapphire and silver throne in a very similar color scheme to the Summoner’s Cup, the World Championship winner’s trophy (see where they’re headed with this?)

DUAL SKIN: BOTH CHAMPIONSHIP AND VICTORIOUS

Jarvan IV is the first champion of the League roster to get both a Championship and a Victorious skin, but this last skin is only awarded to players who reach the Gold rank or better during a specific competition season. The last Victorious skin for Gold players or better was released in 2011, at the end of the ranked league season. It took them 10 years to shoot out another, and this one is marking the end of the 2021 professional season. Jarvan IV is one lucky duck.

Riot hasn’t announced yet the release date for the Championship skin, so Jarvan will just have to sit it out, too. Skins have generally been released during the last week of September, just before Worlds rears its head, so it might not be such a long wait after all.

Let’s hope Riot ‘gives Jarvan some skin’ soon…
