LEC SPRINGS: JANKOS WINS MVP AWARD; REKKLES WITH HIGHEST KDA IN PLAYOFFS
So, it’s Jankos Jankowski’s second MVP award in a row. The 24-year-old jungler for League of Legends has scored back-to-back MVP awards in a row for a great season.
G2 Esports’ Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski led all LEC players with 96 kills and led all European junglers in KDA, assists, first-blood percentage, average damage to champions per minute, plus average gold difference at 10 minutes. Good resume kid! He was not only consistent with G2, but aided his teammates with ganks and roams that aided them in staying even. Those awesome performances made him win 7 ‘Player of the Game’ awards during spring.
The one player who could’ve taken the award from him was Luka “Perkz” Perković, fellow teammate and season’s team starting AD carry. He had the LEC’s third-most kills plus third-highest average damage to champion/minute, and he was perfect for carrying his team to win.
This now sets up Jankos and Perkz to take down Fnatic for their 7th European title since 2013, which you can catch on LevelUp.bet streaming, LEC’s official Twitch channel or the LoL Esports YouTube channel.
REKKLES WITH HIGHEST KDA IN LEC SPRING PLAYOFFS
And speaking of the LEC Spring Split again, where G2 won their 3rd consecutive title, the veteran ADC from second-placer. Fnatic went far and beyond the call of duty (no pun intended).
Rekkels, an esports name that puts frenemies and rivals a-trembling, had the highest KDA by far, as seen through recent playoffs. He ended playoffs with a 7.13 KDA, way ahead of the nearest player, even though he had played only three different champions in a 20-game spree, most being on Senna.
Senna may have guaranteed an assist with her global ultimate (when hitting level six), and Rekkles was the only ADC to pick the character up in several games; evidently, his KDA was boosted by his many assists. Other stats topped by Rekkles include kill participation (77.5 percent of all his team’s playoff run kills), and all this in his 9th year as Pro, exceeding his pro peers by far.
LEC will be back this summer with a spanking, brand-new split of matches.
