League of Legends’ European Championship has enjoyed some relative success in viewership numbers throughout the three years of its existence, nonetheless, the last few weeks since the kick-off of the ongoing 2021 Spring Split have been simply phenomenal, as the LoL event has amassed some 1.4 million hours watched on their main channel.
The early figures released by Twitch trackers SullyGnome point out a huge surge in viewership since last year, with some channel instances reaching an impressive 30-40% growth in their average number of concurrent viewers.

2021 LEC Spring Split: A Twitch Ratings Success!
The greatest European LoL tournament is among the most-watched esports events at Twitch’s online streaming service, and the viewership numbers keep growing with each day.
According to the recent viewership data posted by online trackers SullyGnome, the third week of the now-running LEC Spring Split surpassed the Twitch figures obtained last year: LEC’s official channel garnered 69,498 viewers on Friday, and a staggering 84,631 on Saturday alone. The growth is also made evident in terms of total hours watched on the various language LEC channels; the main channel, for instance, picked up 1.4 million hours just this far in 2021, raising last year’s record of close to 1 million total hours watched.
LEC’s 2021 Spring Split resumes tomorrow Friday, with Week 4’ series of Bo1 matches; Shalke and Astralis will fight it off first at 10 AM Central.
