NERF ALERT! TELEPORT GETS BIG NERF ON LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PBE

  • Nerf could be making its way in the 2022 preseason
  • It could have a lot of impact on the meta
  • Nerf could have restrictions for Teleport

Teleport, the summoner spell and a staple for top and mid laners in the past few years, could be getting a nerf-over soon.

SUMMONER SPELL IS BEING NERFED

So with everyone getting restrictions nowadays, thanks to everyone’s favorite enemy coronavirus, there’s no reason why we should suffer and go at it alone: Teleport, the summoner spell, could be getting slapped with a substantial nerf that restricts it to allied structures the first 14 minutes of the game.

Yep, the spell was shown on the League of Legends “Public Test Environment” (PBE) with this description: “After channeling for four seconds, teleports your champion to target allied structure. Upgrades to Unleashed Teleport at 14 minutes.” To those NOT in the know, “Unleashed Teleport” is the version of Teleport on Summoner’s Rift which everyone’s accustomed to and which can be channeled on a lot of stuff, including allied structures, traps, wards, minions, and even on Zac’s passive bloblets, apparently. That is, until the nerf shows up, if it ever does.

AND, WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE NERF?

The nerf –again, IF it ever shows up to hit the 2022 preseason– could turn the meta around like a cat on its back and impact it considerably, namely preventing champs –particularly top laners– from inflicting punishment on the bot lane in the beginnings of the game. This will provide players with more elbow and breathing space while cutting down on skirmishes and also slowing down the game pace in the long run. On the slapping end of the nerf, it could end up forcing those pesky top laners into farming the first 14 minutes while stomping a little on their creativity.

TENTATIVE MEANS IT’S A TEASE?

Oh, but get this: with all the bells and whistles and hoo-ha, the nerf is still in the “tentative” mode. It could very well be reverted before patch 11.25 (which will come about in two weeks) hits the public this December 22nd and leave us cliffhanging, so “could be” might mean that the change is just a tease, that all this is fake and that they like to get our hopes up unnecessarily. Oh, “in my humble opinion” that is…

So stay put until December 22nd to find out if they was just messin’ with our hearts and minds, here.
