IGN POSTS LIST OF BEST & WORST RATED GAMES OF 2020
2020 is FINALLY wrapping up! For a while there it almost felt like it was never going to end, but, thank heavens, we’re on the very last day of this wretched year, and as is media tradition, everyone’s going on about their lists of Best and Worst on just about anything and everything. One such entity is IGN, the renown video-game news and media site, who yesterday posted their video list of the finest and most disgraceful reviews rendered during the year.
Spelunky 2, Crusader Kings 3 and Half Life: Alyx are amongst the titles most exalted by IGN game reviewers, while EA’s FIFA 21 Legacy Edition and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles received heavy criticism for their lack of originality and poor performance respectively. Always-controversial The Last of Us Part 2 by Naughty Dog also secured a spot within the best rated games, unlike Ghost of Tsushima, which was mysteriously missing from the brief video recount.

High Praise for Crusader Kings 3 & Microsoft’s Flight Simulator
Gaming-stuff hub IGN.com released yesterday their video preshow of the Best & Worst Reviewed Games of 2020, consisting mostly of easy guesses alongside some forgotten surprises.
Strategy-classic Crusader Kings 3 topped the list for 2020 gaming masterpieces, “a superb strategy game, a great RPG and a masterclass in how to take the best parts of an existing system and make them deeper and better.” VR Shooter Half Life: Alyx was commended for its “interactivity, detail and level design’, and Microsoft’s Flight Simulator received more-than-kind words regarding its perfect reproduction of an all-round-the-world flight experience.
True dat. IGN is known as one of those very PC-media outlets when it comes to video-game reviewing: The San Francisco-based company was one of the first gaming authorities to sing the glories of Last of Us Part 2 for PS4, and for the 2020 grading review, they chose to call the title a “masterpiece worthy of its predecessor.” Talk about licking some serious Nauthy Dog butt!
Then came the ‘walk of shame’ of IGN gaming review, with special mention of the excruciatingly long load times of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition and EA’s complete disdain for creativity and innovation in the awfully repetitive FIFA 2021: Legacy Edition for Nintendo Switch.
