Besides adding a new story and other features in the upcoming May 26 update, the Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath expansion is also bringing in 80s filmography icon RoboCop! Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!

This character is not the first crossover from a film to make it into Mortal Kombat 11. Its initial six-character DLC pack included The Terminator, Joker and Spawn. Back in 2015, Mortal Kombat X had already received two DLC packs bearing horror icons Jason Voorhees, Predator, and Leatherface. This trend started out in the 2011 reboot, initiating with A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger.

Aftermath is the first DLC to include story elements; the expansion will feature two returning characters –god of wind Fujin plus Mortal Kombat 3’s Sheeva, a half-dragon/half-human/ugliest female MK character, ever—in the new cinematic story. Liu Kang will be teaming up with his old nemesis Shang Tsung; we still don’t know if RoboCop will have a role or just be a bonus character (yeah, just throw it in for fun, y’all.)

The new version, called the Aftermath Kollection, has additional content besides the expansion: alongside the original game + expansion combo (duh!) it has the Kombat Pack DLC which includes additional stage fatalities, levels, and friendships. Stages include the Soul Chamber and Dead Pool arenas. Three skin packs are also included in Aftermath, and pre-orders will receive a free character skin pack with fresh outfits for Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia (Now THAT’s a console I REALLY wanna try out!).
