What can we expect from the RX6900 XT?
Designed to take gaming in 4K and 2K resolutions to another level, it has 80 compute units and a 128 MB Infinity Cache cache. It brings 16 GB GDRR6 VRAM to the table and a game frequency speed of 2015 MHz, with an increased clock speed of 2250 MHz.
The RX 6000 series graphics cards have RDNA 2 architecture, which has improved power consumption overall, even if still in 7nm lithography. Achieving a similar performance to its competitor NVIDIA RTX 3090 with a price tag that is $200 cheaper is the result of using Smart Access Memory and Rage Mode technologies.
It also offers ray tracing technology, which is also used in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles; by working hand in hand with Microsoft in this regard, the result is that AMD can also offer full compatibility with DirectX 12. There are 35 games which have been approved to come under this compatibility with ray tracing technology, including new products such as Godfall and Far Cry 6.
At the event, the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT was given a price tag of $999, and a release date for December 8th of this year.
