PEPÉ LE PEW OUT OF SPACE JAM 2 DUE TO “SEXUAL HARASSMENT”

Yes. This is the sad world we inhabit nowadays.

I never thought I’d see the day come when cartoon characters from over 60 years ago would end up “canned” due to today’s political correctness, but alas,  the “day of reckoning” has come, and the latest victim of the raging ‘cancel culture’ is none other but classic Looney Tunes skunk Pepé Le Pew

Why? Because it seems he had been sexually harassing a fictitious female cat this WHOLE time.  :I

Le Pew was to appear in one single scene in the upcoming Space Jam 2: A New Legacy, scheduled to reach theaters and streaming services in mid Summer, but his “unacceptable” sexual conduct throughout his decades-long cartoon career had the execs at newly-woke Warner Brothers’ Studios remove his only-featured scene in the editing room.

Pepé Le Pew’s scene cut out from upcoming Space Jam movie

And, almost as if it had been planned by the most stringent activist groups for the celebration of the International Women’s Day (aka today), one the most iconic and “insisting” cartoon characters in animation history has been cut out from the soon-coming Space Jam: A New Legacy.

The Reason?  Pepé is just too controversial for today’s eerie and super-sensitive woke crowds.

It just doesn’t ‘compute’ for them that once upon a time, cartoon characters were supposed to be crazy, and didn’t have to adjust to the changing norms of conduct in society, because, after all, they’re just cartoon characters.

But common sense aside, it pleases both Warner Brothers and Twitter’s hate mob, that Le Pew be left out completely of the second installment of the Space Jam franchise. According to a report recently published by entertainment hub Deadline.com, the WB studios removed a single scene in which the cartoon skunk is seen making an unwanted move on a female character by the name of ‘Jane the Virgin’, brought to life by actress Greice Santo. The short scene ends with Santo slapping Le Pew, of course.

As stated by the Santo’s spokesperson to the folks at Deadline: “This was such a big deal for Greice to be in this movie… if anyone was going to slap a sexual harasser like him, Greice wished it would be her. Now the scene is cut, and she doesn’t have the power to influence the world through younger generations, who’ll be watching Space Jam 2, to let younger girls and younger boys know that Pepé’s behavior is unacceptable.”

Why should any movie that is intended for children have to feature strong sexual content?

Beats us, but it’s probably best for Pepé to take the bench this time. Too much drama going on all around.

Space Jam: A New Legacy opens up in both theaters and HBO Max streaming service on July 14th, 2021; the film features NBA’s Lebron James and it cost nearly 162 Million US$ to make.
